Theprogram implements the fundamental task of nurturing virtue and talents, with adistinctive focus on English forscience and technology. It emphasizesthe cultivation of students’comprehensiveabilities of integrating general knowledge,professional knowledge,and specialized knowledge. The program off ersspecialized modulesin engineering English translation, Englishliterature and culture,and English language teaching, aiming to broaden students’ knowledgeand nurture the irpractical innovation ability and development potential. The graduate are capable of pursuing careers in fields such asforeign affairs,international business,scientific translation,and English language teaching, or continuetheir academic studiesat a higher level.
Training objectives
1.Students will be able to adapt to the needs of social and economic development, and achieve a well-rounded development in moral, intellectual, physical, aesthetic, and labor aspects. They will lay a solid foundation in English language, and possess a sense of Chinese nationalist icsentiments, international perspectives, social responsibility, cooperative spirit, innovative thinking, critical thinking skills, and cross-cultural competence.
2.Students will have a high level of ideological and psychological quality, strong professional competence, and independent work ability. They will be able to undertake English language teaching work, and handle foreign affairs, translation and management tasks in foreign affairs departments, economic and trade enterprises, public institutions, scientific and technological information agencies, and judicial or media sectors
3.Students will develop intoadvanced specialized professionals with a focus on English language application and engineering translation.

The program admits students from both science and liberal arts background, with a four-year study duration, leading to a Bachelor of Arts degree.
